1. The efforts being made under the National Rural Health Mission, especially on inter-sectoral convergence with the avowed aim of reducing maternal and infant mortality rates, will, I am sure, bear desired results and help accelerate progress towards achieving the Millennium Development Goals.

विशेषकर अंतर-क्षेत्रीय अभिसरण विषय पर राष्ट्रीय ग्रामीण स्वास्थ्य मिशन के तहत किए जा रहे प्रयासों, में मातृत्व एवं शिशु मृत्यु दर में कमी लाने की जो घोषणा की की गई है, उससे, मुझे विश्वास है कि वांछित परिणाम प्राप्त होंगे और सहस्त्राब्दि विकास लक्ष्यों को प्राप्त करने की दिशा में तीव्र प्रगति होगी।
